Vacation!!!

We had a great vacation! I'm going to start with Wednesday!!

We got to the airport nice and early Wednesday evening and checked in, then ate. Conlan is a great traveler, and that includes flying. We had one (large) incident on the first plane. Jonathan was playing with Conlan, and Conlan was honking his nose. Well, Jonathan reached over and honked back, which resulted in blood gushing from Conlan's nose!! He wasn't in pain, so he didn't cry, but it was coming out fast. We pushed the attendant button and tried desperately to keep the blood contained. Conlan was wearing a white onesie, so I'm afraid it might be ruined. We'll see. Anyway, the flight attendants walked by 3 times before someone stopped to see if we needed help. It was pretty frustrating. Well, we then changed planes in Denver (the second flight was uneventful) and got into LA. Adam and Rachael picked us up!! :)

Thursday started off with an early morning. Rachael and I headed up to the church to work on cupcakes. We were met by Kerri and her maid of honor Kadie. We had a lot of fun, but we were all really tired. Rachael and I worked until it was time to go to the bachelorette party...Thai food and kareoke. So much fun. Rachael and I forgot about how tired we were for a while and just enjoyed hanging out with Kerri and her friends. Kerri is just a wonderful woman, and we have so much fun with her. The kareoke place was really interesting. Apparently, there are people in LA who really take kareoke seriously. The place we went was like a spa!! We walked in and there were granite walls and chandeliers. Anyway, we had a lot of fun singing old songs with Korean music videos in the background.

Friday morning we started off by finishing up the cupcakes. Here are a few pictures (from the wedding).

Friday night was the rehearsal dinner, which was a lot of fun. We had it at the hotel, so us girls were able to relax beforehand. Rachael, Connie, Barbara (Jonathan's aunt) and I set up the tables, and they looked something like this.

The theme was The Game of Life. :) Connie had the great idea to have people write notes and cute little phrases in the game pieces. It was really fun. Here's me and my wonderful husband!!

Saturday was the wedding. It was so beautiful. It's amazing how calm everything was. Kerri's parents are so calm, and so was Kerri. Everything went off without a hitch. There was a little bump in regards to the photographer, but everything worked out in the end. He accidentally left all of his stuff in El Paso, but he had friends in LA with camera equipment. We didn't tell Kerri, Kerri's mother, or William. It all turned out okay. :) Here are pictures of the wedding. :)

Sunday we went to church where William and Kerri got married, then we headed to Manhattan Beach. I have a LOT of pictures at the beach. Jonathan's cousin Anna is an amateur photographer, and she was having a lot of fun with him. I don't have any of those pictures yet though. Here are the ones I took.

While at the beach, we had some friends who just moved out to LA come by and see us. Caleb is a great friend from college, and Morgan is his fabulous wife who took pictures at Rachael and Adam's wedding. I didn't get any pictures of them, because I was too busy catching up. :) Caleb is working for Frank Gehry (a unique architect) and was going to try to get us a tour of his studio. I would have loved that, because Gehry is SO different. This is a building in Prague he designed. Basically, Caleb says that he designs, and then they work until they make the physics of it work.

After the beach, Adam's uncle (who lives in Manhattan Beach) invited ALL of us over for Cuban food. If you understand this family, you know what a big deal that is. There were 13 of us, plus Conlan. It was a wonderfully relaxing afternoon.

Monday we spent at Knott's Berry Farm, a cute little amusement park in LA. I am getting a little tired of typing, so I'm going to post pictures here.

Tuesday everyone headed out. Rachael, Adam, Jonathan and I took Peter to the airport and then decided on a quick stop in Hollywood. It's very underwhelming, just so you know, so we just drove through and took pictures between stoplights.

After Hollywood, we went back to LAX, where our plane was delayed a little. We got to Denver on time, just to find that our flight to Oklahoma was delayed again! We were flying pretty late, so we wanted to get on the plane. Well, the plane was ready after 30 minutes, but for some reason, all of the United employees disappeared from the counter. So after 45 minutes, the pilot came out and told us he was going to find someone to get us on the plane. We're definitely a little miffed with United after this trip. Any problems we had were with that airline. We got home at 2 instead of 12.

Well, that was our trip. It was a good one and a busy one, and we're glad to be home. Thanks for reading!!
