As I mentioned before, Jonathan and I decided to re-paint Conlan's room. The bright blue was getting a little overwhelming, and it made his room seem so dark! (We were using a queen size sheet for a window covering as well, which contributed to the light problem.)
Well, we made a trip to Home Depot the other day for some "home improvement" gear. We have their credit card, but we have agreed not to use it. Every once in a while, they send us something that's "no payments, no interest" for 12 months. We have to spend at least $300 though. Well, perfect time to fix Conlan's room! We got a much lighter, dusty blue paint and some blinds for his oddly shaped window. He also needed shelves for things we don't want him to touch but we want in his room, so we picked up some floating shelves. We also got a light yellow green for our room and some blinds for the living room area. There were other things grabbed here and there too, like a bookshelf, and we more than met our $300 requirement! Our agreement with one another is that we have to pay on it every month, we have to pay it off within 12 months, and we can't put anything else on the card until it's paid off. It's a pretty good deal. That's how we got our new washer when our old one broke.
Anyway, back to the painting. His room is SO much brighter, but my hands are sore. :) Oh, the joys of working hard. I'm going to enjoy my quiet house...Jonathan and Conlan are getting the oil changed in my car.

We did/do the same thing with our JCP card (only way I can find clothes that fit tall people is online) and Home Depot Card--which is about to be used to buy a mower and probably a small chest freezer. We had the same deal when we bought the washer/dryer--it's encouraging to have these nice small things I can get paid off quickly w/o accruing nasty interest
